Margaret Bartley is an editor, a freelance writer and historian. She has a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from Johns Hopkins University and lives in New York’s Adirondack Mountains. She is a regular contributor to Adirondack Life magazine and an amateur cellist.

GRISHA wins Adirondack Literary Award for Non-Fiction
Author Margaret Bartley was honored by the presentation of the award for best non-fiction written in, or about, the Adirondacks during 2004-2005. These awards are given by the Adirondack Center For Writing. The awards were announced at a ceremony on June 4, 2006 at the Blue Mountain Center Artist Retreat in Blue Mountain Lake, New York. Brian Mann of North Country Public Radio reports: Adirondack Writers Collect Awards and GRISHA Wins Adirondack Literary Award.

Margaret Bartley discussed GRISHA on WRTI’s Crossover program on February 11, 2006, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In an article, entitled A Book and a Cello, on the Internet Cello Society web site, Margaret Bartley describes how she became interested in Gregor Piatagorsky, his family, and his music, and how it led to the book GRISHA.

A.J. Keifer is co-author of the GRISHA Study Guide. Keifer earned a BA in International Relations, along with a teaching degree, at American University, Washington, D.C. She taught High School Social Studies and Advanced Placement Government and Comparative Politics in Montgomery County, Maryland and in Beverly Hills, California. Keifer has written study guides for the Anti-Defamation League, St. Louis Art Museum, McGraw-Hill, and Pearson Education.

Kelsey Francis is co-author of the GRISHA Study Guide. She has a BA in English from Frostburg State University and a BS in Education from College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Master’s degree in English Literature from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, New York. Since 2000, she has taught Advanced Placement and Senior English at the Saranac Lake High School, Saranac Lake, New York.
